Healthier homemade cranberry sauce

By UrbanRemedy

Cranberries are brimming with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory nutrients. These itty bitty berries help prevent urinary tract infections, protect the cardiovascular system, and support digestive tract and the liver health. Our simple homemade cranberry sauce recipe eliminates refined white sugar and replaces it with fresh apple juice and healthier coconut sugar, letting you truly reap the cranberry’s nutritional benefits.

Cranberry SauceHomemade Cranberry Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

1 lb organic cranberries

2 cups fresh made apple juice

1 cup chopped gala apples

1 Tablespoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon of cloves

¼ teaspoon of allspice

1 cup coconut sugar

Directions:
Put chopped apples in a bowl and toss in the cinnamon, cloves and allspice. In a saucepan bring fresh apple juice to a boil and add cranberries, apples, and coconut sugar, stir well. Lower heat and stir frequently. Keep on low heat and keep stirring until sauce thickens. Once thickened remove from heat and cool. You can store in fridge a day or two before Thanksgiving and it tastes even better. If you like sweeter add more coconut sugar.
