The Urban Remedy Story

Urban Remedy founder Neka Pasquale grew up with Jewish and Italian grandmothers, or as she tells it, “the best of both worlds.” She credits both women with her present-day passion for cooking and thanks her mother for instilling an appreciation for healthy eating. As a young adult, Neka became a private chef for various families, interpreting their favorite dishes in a healthy, often vegetarian style.

Committed to health and healing, Neka directed her energies into Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture, which reinforced her understanding that food is medicine. With a passion to learn as much about the subject as possible, Neka studied many therapies and healers, integrating countless modalities into her practice.

Fascinated by the taste, temperatures and flavors of foods, Neka began educating her patients on how to incorporate specific dietary principles into their daily food intake to help balance their individual ailments. Her passion for cooking led her to create 3-5 day juice, raw food and yoga retreats in gorgeous surroundings, where people could come to de-stress, relax, lose weight and cleanse their bodies, minds and spirits.

After juicing for over a decade, she witnessed dramatic changes in people after 3-5 days—a transformative experience that underscored her understanding of the healing benefits of live, raw foods. Neka began experimenting and creating live, raw foods, salad dressings and wholesome juices as the genesis of Urban Remedy. Born by popular demand, Urban Remedy morphed into a focused juice business as Neka’s clients reported they didn’t have time to wash and juice produce then clean up afterwards, multiple times a day. Now, with Urban Remedy, fresh juice is as easy as opening the fridge.
